eSIM in Casablanca: getting online on arrival, around town and on a business trip
In Casablanca, the right answer is an eSIM or a Moroccan SIM card: Rent A Phone does not deliver to Casablanca, and our router is handed over in Marrakech only. For 7 days of unlimited internet with a Moroccan number, Orange and inwi charge about €11; without a number, eSIM Maroc sells 7 unlimited days for €24 (1 GB a day at full speed, then 512 kbps), installed before you fly (prices checked on 13 October 2026). All three operators, Orange, Maroc Telecom and inwi, are listed among the shops at Mohammed V airport (ONDA list, March 2025).
The essentials
- Rent A Phone does not deliver in the city or at Mohammed V airport: our router is delivered in Marrakech only. If your trip continues to Marrakech, it can be waiting for you there.
- ONDA lists Orange, IAM (Maroc Telecom) and inwi shops at Mohammed V airport; their opening hours are not published.
- Casablanca has had 5G since 7 November 2025, but not every eSIM gives you 5G: Nomad and Airalo stay on 4G, while Holafly and the Moroccan operators’ offers switch it on if your phone supports it.
- On a business trip: get a Moroccan number (Orange, inwi, Maroc Telecom); to connect a laptop, check that your eSIM allows tethering (details below).
- The Al Boraq train links Casablanca to Rabat and Tangier; an eSIM follows you across the country, with nothing to return.

Does Rent A Phone deliver to Casablanca? No
Watch out
Rent A Phone does not deliver to Casablanca: not in the city, not to your hotel, not at Mohammed V airport. Our pocket Wi-Fi router is delivered and collected in Marrakech only: hotel, riad, Airbnb or wherever you’re staying. We have no shop or drop-off point anywhere else.
We would rather say it plainly, because the question comes up often for Mohammed V, the country’s busiest airport. There are two situations:
- You are staying in Casablanca, or visiting Rabat, Tangier or Fez without going through Marrakech: get an eSIM or a local SIM. The rest of this page explains which one.
- Your trip continues to Marrakech: the router can be waiting for you at your hotel, riad or Airbnb in Marrakech. For the days in Casablanca beforehand, a small data eSIM is enough. The router is also returned in Marrakech at the end of the rental.
If you travel as a group and still want a shared device from Casablanca, you will have to buy one: no Moroccan operator rents out pocket Wi-Fi. inwi sells a “Vacay” MiFi (about €27.50 according to its July 2025 price brochure), with unlimited 4G top-ups at about €9.20 for 7 days, about €18.50 for 14 days or about €27.50 for 30 days (inwi page read on 13 October 2026). The full comparison is in our article pocket Wi-Fi in Morocco: renting one vs buying from Maroc Telecom, inwi or Orange.
Arriving at Mohammed V airport
Mohammed V is Royal Air Maroc’s hub. Unlike Marrakech-Menara, whose official shop list names no operator, ONDA’s “Shops” page for Mohammed V (March 2025 copy) lists Orange, IAM and inwi. It gives neither the terminal, the zone nor opening hours: do not count on a shop being open in the middle of the night.
- Before you fly Check that your phone supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked, then install your eSIM at home over Wi-Fi.
- When you land Turn on the eSIM line for data and switch on data roaming; turn off data on your usual line to avoid roaming charges.
- No eSIM? Go to an operator shop at the airport or in town with your passport: since 2014, every prepaid line has to be registered.
- Getting into town The ONCF “Al Bidaoui” train links the airport with Casa-Port and Casa-Voyageurs stations, roughly once an hour.
Airport Wi-Fi is fine for a quick message, but it does not follow you onto the train or into a taxi. Our detailed advice for the first minutes is in getting online the moment you land in Morocco.
Casablanca’s network: 4G everywhere, 5G depending on your eSIM
Casablanca is the country’s largest city and one of the best covered. Maroc Telecom says its 5G was live in nearly 60 cities in the first week, Casablanca included; Orange says its 5G reaches 135 cities. On 4G, Maroc Telecom leads: typical download speed of 27.5 Mbps, against 23.7 on Orange and 22.8 on inwi according to Opensignal (data from January to March 2026).
5G does not depend on the city alone: you need a compatible phone and a plan that enables it. This is where eSIMs differ.
| Offer | Network(s) | 5G | Price checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| eSIM Maroc | not stated | not verified | €24, 7 days (1 GB a day then 512 kbps) |
| Orange Marhaba | Orange | “5G compatible” | about €11, 7 unlimited days |
| inwi eSIM pack | inwi | If area and phone support it | about €11, 7 unlimited days |
| Maroc Telecom E-SIM Visiteurs | Maroc Telecom | If area and phone support it | about €29.50, 14 unlimited days (August 2026) |
| Holafly | inwi, Maroc Telecom, Orange | “If available” | €29.90, 7 days |
| Nomad | Orange | No, 4G | €24.09, 7 days |
| Airalo | Orange | No, LTE | €32.50, 7 days |
| Ubigi | Maroc Telecom, Orange | No (shows “No 5G”) | about €22.38, 7 days (25 GB then 2 Mbps) |
Prices and networks checked on 13 October 2026 on each provider’s website; Maroc Telecom according to its page as seen in August 2026.
In practice, 4G is plenty for video calls, email and maps. 5G mainly matters if you move large files. To see what it changes, read our guide to 5G in Morocco.
Business trip to Casablanca: number, video calls and laptop
Casablanca is Morocco’s business capital, and many visitors come to work. Needs change: a Moroccan number for drivers and meetings, enough data for video calls, and often a laptop to connect away from the hotel Wi-Fi. Three offers cover these cases.
eSIM Maroc
€24 7 days, unlimited; €45 for 15 days, €79 for 30 days
- Bought online before you leave, starts on your first connection in Morocco
- 1 GB a day at full speed, then 512 kbps until the next day
- Hotspot depends on the phone and the operator
- Data only, no Moroccan number
Best for: a stay with no need to call, on a compatible phone.
inwi eSIM pack, 30 days
about €48 30 days, unlimited internet
- Unlimited national and zone 1 international calls, 2 h to France, 500 texts
- Moroccan number
- Requested at an inwi shop; the ID process offers a foreign passport option
Best for: a month-long stay with lots of calls.
Orange Marhaba
about €11 7 days; about €20.50 for 14 days, about €29.50 for 30 days
- Bought online, QR code by email
- Moroccan number, 5G compatible
- Line goes live as soon as you scan the QR code
Best for: a one- or two-week assignment, reachable locally.
All the Moroccan operators’ offers are compared in local eSIMs from Moroccan operators.
Casablanca, then Rabat, Tangier or Marrakech by train
Casablanca is often one stop among several. The Al Boraq high-speed train links Casa-Voyageurs station with Rabat-Agdal, Kenitra and Tangier; Marrakech is served by a conventional line, several hours away by train. A high-speed extension to Marrakech has been announced but is not in service.
An eSIM has no internal borders: it works wherever its operator’s network reaches. Two tips for a multi-city trip:
- Buy for the whole trip, not just the Casablanca days: a 14- or 30-day plan costs less than two 7-day ones (Orange Marhaba: about €20.50 for 14 days, versus 2 × about €11).
- Prepare the journey: signal can weaken in places between cities, and it is more relaxing to download an e-ticket or a work file before boarding the train.
If you end your trip in Marrakech as a group, that is where a shared router becomes worthwhile: see our Marrakech eSIM page, which compares eSIM, SIM and a pocket Wi-Fi delivered to your riad.
Our advice for Casablanca
Our verdict
In Casablanca, get an eSIM. Stay with no need to call: eSIM Maroc, installed before you fly (€24 for 7 unlimited days, 1 GB a day at full speed then 512 kbps). Business trip or need for a number: Orange Marhaba or inwi’s eSIM pack, at about €11 a week. Laptop to connect: check before buying that the eSIM allows tethering (cards above). We do not deliver to Casablanca; our router only makes sense if your trip goes through Marrakech.
For the Marrakech leg of your trip, Rent A Phone rents a Maroc Telecom 4G router with unlimited data at €4.90 a day (2-day minimum), shared by up to 10 devices, delivered and collected free of charge at your hotel, riad, Airbnb or wherever you’re staying. Payment is online by card, in euros. You can book online with your Marrakech address.
Casablanca eSIM: frequently asked questions
Does Rent A Phone deliver to Casablanca?
No. Rent A Phone delivers and collects its router in Marrakech only: hotel, riad, Airbnb or wherever you’re staying. If your trip continues to Marrakech, the router can be waiting for you there; for Casablanca, get an eSIM or a local SIM.
Can I rent a pocket Wi-Fi at Mohammed V airport?
We found no rental offer: Maroc Telecom, Orange and inwi sell SIMs, eSIMs and routers, they do not rent them. inwi, for instance, sells a Vacay MiFi (about €27.50 according to its July 2025 brochure) with unlimited 4G top-ups from about €9.20 for 7 days.
Which eSIM should I get for Casablanca?
For a few days without calls, a data eSIM is enough: eSIM Maroc cost €24 for 7 unlimited days on 13 October 2026 (1 GB a day at full speed, then 512 kbps), installed before you fly. If you want a Moroccan number, Orange Marhaba and inwi’s eSIM pack cost about €11 for 7 unlimited days.
Where can I buy a SIM card at Casablanca’s main airport?
ONDA’s list of shops at Mohammed V (March 2025 copy) includes Orange, IAM (Maroc Telecom) and inwi. Opening hours are not published; bring your passport, which is required to register a prepaid line.
Do I get 5G in Casablanca with an eSIM?
It depends on the eSIM. Orange, inwi and Maroc Telecom offers give you 5G if your phone supports it, and Holafly advertises it “if available”; Nomad and Airalo only state 4G. 4G is enough for video calls and browsing.
Which eSIM can I use to connect a laptop?
You need an eSIM that allows tethering. Each provider’s rule and full-speed allowance are in the table and cards above (checked on 13 October 2026); with eSIM Maroc, tethering depends on the phone and the operator. If your trip continues to Marrakech, the Rent A Phone router connects up to 10 devices, laptop included.
Can my Rent A Phone router wait for me in Marrakech?
Yes. When booking, give your hotel, riad or Airbnb in Marrakech as the handover address. The rental starts on the date you choose, and the router is returned in Marrakech at the end.
